Nike's "World Make" series allows the brand's regional teams to express themselves through a unique sneaker release. Each shoe wears a "WM" stitch on the tongue which signals the program's involvement. This "Big Bubble" Air Max 1 comes from Nike Korea.

The canvas which forms the base of the shoe on the toebox and collar is similar to a ramie cloth, one of human civilisation's oldest textiles. Koreans have made this fabric for centuries, with the fine ramie cloth from the Hansan region recognised by UNESCO on their Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list.

Across the quarter panels a larger weave is used, whilst the mudguard is a tumbled leather with black painted edges — matching the binding on the upper panels. Inside the cork footbed compliments the natural hemp which is used to create the textiles.
